Your Friendly Neighborhood Police Officer
Having several family memebers and friends who are law enforcement officers I have a great amount of respect for the job that they have to do, especially for my cousin who works in a rough part of Michigan. They take a lot of danger head on with the job and have to put their life on the line to protect us. But this dude driving his mini car is nothing more than a pissed off fat man looking to show people who is boss. There is no excuse to act like this in front of a 14 year old kid who is going to grow up and hate cops who are supposed to be there to protect you.
Nice.

BLAH
My good bro Phil sent me a pic of this classic shirt that I did about 20 years ago. I think it was one of the first "companies" that I ever did. It was created in the car after a blown out knee and a car ride with Chris Vest, the first time we ever me and it was called Blah Board Wear. Blah was an acronym for Bull Lickin A*% H*&#s. Which is the name I came up with for a few people that we were sandboarding with that weekend.

Yes the rumors are true.....
So yes, it is true. I had a small part of Hollywood history when I worked with Steven Spielberg. During our time together I gave him quite a few ideas, including several high dollar type movies like Independance day and stuff like that. He was thankful and unfortunately I never got paid but I was only 17 and did not have a written contract at the time. Oh well, maybe some day he'll ask me to do a movie again.

Novi Snowmobile Show
It was a pretty cool show this weekend. Hung out with some friends old and new, Chris Burandt came into town to sign some autographs for Slednecks and he is a super nice guy. I got him together with NASCAR driver and Sledneck Team Member Brian Keselowski and they talked cars for a few hours. Chris tried to convince Brian to let him drive his car but Brian was having none of it HA! Chris pretty much flew in Friday night and was out Saturday night, pretty crazy schedule for him but he's off to Idaho I guess for more work. When he found out that we wee going to go to Kart 2 Kart for some indoor cart action on Saturday night you coud tell he was disappointed but duty call right Chris!!! Make sure you check out his video, you can get it here - http://shop.slednecks.com/prodinfo.asp?number=SNV+CB1 or at you local Slednecks dealer. Support his backcountry adventures is you really want to know how to ride!

Here are a few photos from the show.
Brian is trying to explain to Chris how much easier it is to get sponsors with a larger chest.
Would they trade rides?
I think Chris would easier than Brian!

Representing Detroit
OK so I am sorry that this video has offensive language but it was waaaaaay to funny not to post. So sad that this dude they are singing about probably actually died but pleeeeeeeease someone tell these people that this is the worst song ever and make Detroit look not bad but worse. Nice having the little kid there with you also.

Eagle Scout
Believe it or not, I am (and I say "am" and not "was") an Eagle Scout. Call my mother if you don't believe me. But if I had known that I was able to do projects like this when I was doing my community project it would have been a lot more fun.

For a little bit that is. Stopped by to see him and Dion working away at Skaters Advocate! Check 'em out! www.skatersadvocatemi.com
Children In Trees
Ladies and Gentlemen......drumroll please.....
Yes it’s is true, I started a project around the house and I finished it to the end. Roofing a house is a huge task and I had a pretty easy roof to do. Nice pitch and no corner’s at all.
I want to thank my few, and I mean FEW friends that actually showed up to help me with the project – you know who you are.
Everyone else who I asked to come out and bailed……….don’t ask for free shit anymore just because you think I will give it to you. It’s a two way street and I realize now that no one can really help when the time comes.
Here are some good pics of the whole project.
I did pretty much the whole thing myself including the picture of myself when the roof was finished.
Getting ready with the tearoff. Here's the cray hole I fell through when tarping
the roof before the tearoff started.
Hafway done....... Jeremy on his way up wondering how
with the tearoff at least. he got sucked into this project.
Ready to replace some boards. Getting ready to shingle.

Captain Safety
So I am usually a pretty safe dude, since I work in a steel mill quite a bit and have to always look out for things that will kill me at anytime. This is more of a reason that I should be safe at home but it usually never translates to that right?
I am getting ready to replace my roof next weekend - should be fun - but I have a few spots that started leaking and had not fixed them yet. With the horrendus rain that came last weekend I finally decided to get up there and place a tarp over the house to keep my drywall ceiling in the garage and kitchen from getting damaged. I go the my favorite store - Home Depot - and buy a 30x50 tarp and decide that I can spread this out myself on my roof. It is pretty flat and no angles, just a ranch so I figure no problem. It is pouring rain and I am trying to figure out a chinese oragami tarp that has been folded 37 times which could never be placed back into the package without a friggin robot. Anyway, the wind is blowing and now I am soaked, by the way did I mention I am home alone with the kids in the living room? Ya right, so I am near the ridgeline of the house about 2' down and all of a sudden like Tom Hanks in the money pit I am up to my armpits and have fallen through the roof. Went through like a sack of potatos! Yup, I am an idiot.
Pull myself up, huge hole in the roof now. Lucky that I didn't go right through to the kitchen floor. Leg bleeding, my 4 1/2 year old comes out and is giggling in the driveway and I tell him to go inside.
Life is fun.
Oh, yes the hole is covered and now my roofing project has been moved up to next weekend.
Pics to follow.

Heading to Bristol
I worked on trailer this week over at the race shop trying to get it looking a little better for the road. We took off most of the graphis and will have to do the rest when Brian gets back from Bristol. We're looking to do a full wrap on it but the cost for that is pretty substantial.
Here is the trailer now
Looks muh better than it did before with the picture of someone else's car on it.
Brian's been getting the car ready all week and Kathy and Eddie (Long time friends of Brian's) bustedd their butt's along with him to get the trailer ready. Everyone pretty much volunteers for Brian and we all do the dirty jobs like cleaning the grill (Thanks Kathy!) and dismounting the tires and taking out the inner tires from the superspeedway tires. Yes, that job sucks
Brian has the car all set to go so we'll have an update as soon as he gets done with practice.

NASCAR at MIS
Michigan International Speedway was a great showing for Brian. He had a great qualifying run on the second lap which secured him in the show without a problem. Qualifying in the 34th position and with the race starting strong and pit stops running at a good pace the team held on and advanced 10 positions for a 24th place besting some of the best full time drivers and managing to keep the car clean and ready for Bristol this coming weekend. The temperature outside was not to bad but a little bit of heat inside the car caused a bit of a burned heel for Brian. Limping back to the car a little we could tell that he was sore but in true Brian Keselowski fashon he still managed to get the hauler loaded up and continue to work on everything until the last piece was loaded and the car was off the chassis dyno.Brian will be hard at work this week getting ready for Bristol and will be leaving on Wednesday night to get there in time for the Friday night race. So that means there is STILL plenty of time to get some new sponsor logos on the hood of the car! Thanks to those who have supported Brian and continue to do so. Just to show how much Brian’s fans love him and the attention he brings here are some quick Monday morning web stats from www.thehotlap.com which if you didn’t know is the official “unofficial” Nationwide series coverage page.

Brian still gets more hits consistently than any other driver week after week http://www.thehotlap.com/modules.php?name=BGNPhotos&op=album&id=206&min=32
No other driver (except for some guy that had 909 hits but that is thanks to a refresh button I’m sure) has more hits than Brian and in fact the only images that really get all the hits are the girls http://www.thehotlap.com/modules.php?name=BGNPhotos&op=photo&id=19254 – over 200 views http://www.thehotlap.com/modules.php?name=BGNPhotos&op=photo&id=19261 – 189 views But that is ok, because she was with us anyway! Even our pit girls get more hits than anyone else.

One week till the running man
This has been tough for sure. I weighed in today at 182, which is not much of a weight loss and it means I went up a few but considering that I was at a golf outing on monday and did not run that day or Sunday either it makes sense. As far as the running goes I am down to a 9 minute mile and running 3 miles a night. I usually come back sweating like someone who just got out of a lake but hey, that's physical fittness for ya huh? I figure at this pace I could do 10 miles with about a 12 minute mile average finishing in 2 to 2 1/2 hours. Not bad I guess but considering that last year some dude from Kenya won it in 44 minutes that is pretty sad. That dude is gnarly, that is like running 10mph for the entire race or faster - yes my math sucks so you figure it out.

Running Man
So in the last few weeks I have lost a solid 7lbs and I am running a consistent 9 minute mile. Not bad for someone who was never a runner I guess.
That is all.
Sorry, not to exciting.

camping
So as I said earlier I went camping over the 4th of July. Had a pretty good time except for this kid hitting me in the head with a plastic toy.
Of course during the photo review I came to a scary realization. Shit I am a fat bastard and really white.
So it is officially on. I made a promose to Paul Walters, my good friend for a long time and owner of Skaters Advocate that I would run the Crim www.crim.org with him this year. I hve 38 days from now and have NEVER run a marathon in my friggin life. This could possibly be the one this that kills me but I have to do it. I'll keep it updated here on my progress.
Shit, I am so screwed.
